ANGLING conditions have certainly improved again this week at Carsington Fishery.
A number of larger, over-wintered fish have been caught and the rod average is once again on the up.
The eastern side of the reservoir is still providing the best fishing areas and many anglers have been fishing in the deeper water further into Fishtail creek.
The rod average for last week was 3.8 with 149 fish caught by 39 anglers.
The heaviest rainbow this week was 4lb 5oz, caught by Mr M Margett and the heaviest brown was 1 lb 8oz, caught by Mr MacDonald.
The tops spots have been again in deeper water areas on the eastern side of the reservoir, moving around the racing marks number 5 and 6.
Further into fishtail creek has shown good results and given shelter from the stronger winds. The point at Sheepwash, close to the Osprey and Shiningford Creek has also been successful.
