Anglers enjoy another good week at Carsington

Another excellent week of fishing was enjoyed by anglers at Carsington Fishery with most fish being caught on buzzers.

More fish have been caught from Upperfields Bay and Millfields then in recent weeks.

The rod average for last week was 6.75 with 601 fish caught by 89 anglers.

The heaviest rainbow this week was 4lbs 8oz caught by John Sutton on a blob. The heaviest brown was 2lbs 12oz, caught by Mike Watson.

The top spots this week have been Shinningford Creek, Tower Bank, Upperfirlds Bay, Millfields and Sailing Club Island and Watersports island.

The most popular fly patterns used this week have mainly black buzzers other popular patterns were daiwl bach, olive damsel, hot head damsel and orange blob. Mostly intermediate and floating lines have been used this week.

Boats can leave the jetty from 8.30am. All boats are back to the jetty by 9.30pm.

Please allow a few minutes to return from your fishing spot and note that Carsington is a boat fishing water only. It is advisable that boat bookings are made in advance to avoid disappointment.
