Anglers are out in force at Carsington

Anglers have again been out in force at Carsington Fishery.

The rod average for last week was 3.97 with 151 fish caught by 38 anglers.

The heaviest rainbows were 3 ½ lbs, caught by J Matthews and G Stevens.

The heaviest brown this week was 1 ¾ lbs caught by P Pearce.

The most successful areas have been in deeper water areas towards the North end, Fish tail creek, Upperfields, Millfields and off sailing club island.

The most successful patterns are black lures, cats whiskers, sedges, fry patterns and hot head damsels.

Most fish have been caught in deeper areas on intermediate and sinking lines due to the hot weather and warmer water temperature near to the surface.

Boats can leave the jetty from 8.30am.

All boats are back to the jetty by 9.00pm
