Andrew claims the spoils as Gratton brothers take part in cup final

The much-delayed Hartshorne Cup two-man team final has been contested by players who take part in the Darley Dale and District Snooker League.

In the end, it was Ben Monk and Andrew Gratton of Marehay who took the spoils on the day with an excellent 3-1 success over the Belper Jaxx Club pairing of Jimmy Gratton and Hannah Jones.

Ben Monk took the opening frame, aided by a 36 break en route to a 79-21 verdict over Jimmy Gratton before Andrew Gratton increased the advantage, defeating Hannah Jones 82-17 with a run of 41.

Jimmy Gratton then pulled a frame back, overcoming brother Andrew 60-18 but Ben Monk was taking no prisoners and, in another polished display, he eventually finished with a 77-34 triumph over Hannah Jones which helped to pocket another trophy for the Marehay powerhouses.
