Marehay CC 1sts endured a tough afternoon on Saturday in their Derbyshire Premier League game with high flying Sandiacre Town.
In what has been a tough season back in the top flight for Marehay, they lost the game by 156 runs.
Visitors Sandiacre won the toss at the Maryfield and decided to bat first.
They went on to compile a decent total of 202 all out from 49.3 overs.
Mitch McCann was the star man with the bat, eventually ending up with 83, a knock that included 11 fours and one six.
Sandiacre’s skipper Oliver Swann scored 40 but was the only other player to make a substantial contribution to the total.
For Marehay, there were a number of useful bowling displays from the likes of James Kyte (2-50), Matthew White (3-67) and particularly Marehay skipper Richard Wood with 4-22.
But after that it all went horribly wrong as Marehay were dismissed for just 46.
Only Matthew Bailey (15) and Gaz Buckley (12) made it into double figures, while Ryan McFadyean took a superb 7-28.
