Ripley Rangers under 11s ran out 5-3 winners in a real ding-dong encounter with Ashfield Arrows.
Ripley took the lead when Charlie Willows played in Cade Croshaw to finish neatly.
It was 2-0 when Todd Wells thumped in a free-kick after the Ashfield keeper had handled just outside of his area.
Ashfield made it 2-1 on the stroke of half-time when a right wing cross was volleyed home.
Scores were level early in the second half with another strong wing run, cross and shot catching Ripley out.
They responded well though and Wells drove home a superb long range free kick for 3-2. Ripley built on this when Man of the Match Wells completed his hat-trick.
Ashfield would not give up though and pulled another goal back. Ripley sealed the result when Joe Frogson played in Alfie Quinn for 5-3. However there was still time for Ashfield to hit the Ripley bar.
