Holbrook Sports u18s made it three wins in a row after a hard fought victory over Hilton Harriers on Saturday morning.

Hilton started the game in confident mood, going close after a misplaced Holbrook clearance fell kindly to the Hilton forward but Alex Walker was equal to it.

Harriers, however, took the lead on the half hour, another misplaced pass being intercepted but this time the home team striker made no mistake.

Holbrook started the second half like a team possessed, with Harry Bell and Jamie Shelton leading by example with some tough tackling and powerful runs. Sports were now dominating possession.

With 15 minutes left on the clock, Sports finally got their reward as Adam Attwater got his fourth of the season after seeing his cross nestle in the top corner.

The Brookies could now smell blood and went for the win with Dan Johnson and Ollie Naylor combining well and almost conjuring up what would have been the goal of the season had the shot not risen too sharply.

It was Holbrook, however, who went on to score the decisive goal with five minutes to go, with Johnson’s shot being deflected into the net, leaving the goalkeeper stranded.

Sports saw the game out with ease and left the pitch to a standing ovation from the visiting support and management.
