Swanwick Pentrich Road played out a 4-4 thriller at Holbrook Sports on Saturday.
Swanwick got themselves into an early two-goal lead, Dean Owen’s cross headed home by Guy Wilding and then Henry Brooks firing his effort into the bottom corner.
Holbrook finally turned up and started to put some pressure on the Swanwick back line, and this subsequently paid off when Dring played his way into the box, and with minimal contact, the referee pointed to the spot for a very dubious penalty, Anderson giving the Swans keeper Dodds no chance with the resulting spot kick.
This then gave Holbrook the lift they needed, and they then totally dominated for the next ten minutes, adding a further two goals as Coyle and Dring both beat Dodds for a 3-2 half-time lead.
Attacking the slope in the second half, the Swans got level as Melrose down the left side found the advancing Milsom who scored at the second attempt.
Swanwick then took the lead with five minutes left as Wilding’s cross was turned in by Brooks.
The never-say-die attitude of the Holbrook side made the finish very exciting, and got they got their well-deserved reward with a 92nd minute equaliser to end the game 4-4, and again jubilant scenes from the Holbrook side.
