Ripley Rangers U12s recording their biggest victory in the team’s three-season history with a 10-2 win over Ashfield Arrows.
They had started brightly, creating four or five good chances before Ben Hilton put them into the lead.
The same player made it 2-0 following good work by Todd Wells.
Bradley Smith got the third and arguably best goal of the game with a curling strike from outside of the box.
Hilton completed his hat-trick making it 4-0 at half-time when he ran through from halfway and finished well.
Ripley seemed to be in complete control, but Ashfield came out stronger after the break pulling two goals back in the first few minutes.
Ripley looked jittery but with Kieran Penny marshalling the defence they recovered quickly and when Joe Frogson finished neatly from a tight angle to make it 5-2.
Frogson slotted home the sixth before Hilton stole possession, beat two defenders and made it 7-2.
Man-of-the-Match Hilton got his fifth goal of the game with a powerful strike and Frogson completed his hat-trick with another precise finish.
Wells finished things off with a well struck shot from the edge of the box for a massive 10-2 victory.
