Ripley Rangers U11’s returned to winning ways with a 7-0 win over bottom side MDC FC.
Ripley started strongly with Todd Wells going close early on after a great throughball by man-of-the-match Bekir Ozdemir.
Wells then hit the bar before Alfie Quinn forced the MDC keeper into a smart double save.
It was midway through the half before Ripley finally took the lead when Quinn broke on the left and slipped his shot under the advancing keeper.
Cade Croshaw made it 2-0 when Wells played him in on goal and a smartly taken free kick by Ozdemir then gave Croshaw his second goal of the game.
Lewis Holmes then had a goal disallowed for off side following good work by Quinn, but Holmes made amends by getting the fourth goal just before half-time assisted by the in-form Morgan Boyle.
Ripley made some positional changes for the second half and it was again the mid-way point before they added to their tally.
When Ozdemir saw his initial shot blocked the rebound fell back to him and he made no mistake, capping an excellent performance.
Two goals in a minute finished off the rout. Wells stole possession, ran through and dinked his shot over the MDC keeper before Charlie Willows finished off a Crowshaw run and cross.
Ripley’s fourth win of the season pushes them ever closer to a mid-table finish.
