Ripley Rangers U11’s continued their winning run beating top of the table ADASC Sharks 5-2.
In a first half which saw Ripley turn in their best performance of the season so far and race into a 4-0 lead, it was Todd Wells scored all four goals.
The ADASC defence struggled to handle Wells all game and his first came when he ran down a defender and finished neatly.
For his second goal, Wells ran from half way, outpacing the defence before rounding the advancing keeper.
His hat-trick came from an excellent free kick and it was 4-0 just before half time when he latched onto a long kick from keeper Tommy Austin.
Ripley were again defending well with strong performances from Charlie Willows and Bekir Ozdemir.
The second half saw ADASC looking for a way back into the game, but they were stunned early on when Morgan Boyle struck a superb free-kick to make it 5-0. It would take until midway through the half for ADASC to recover when they hit the Ripley bar and shortly after scored from a tight angle.
With ten minutes left on the clock ADASC made it 5-2, scoring with a header from a corner after some pressure.
This could have led to a shaky finish for Ripley, but a disciplined performance throughout the team, especially in defence from Boyle, Ozdemir, Willows, Holmes and Bennett saw Ripley through.
There was even time for Wells to force a double save from the ADASC keeper rounding off a magnificent display from Ripley.
