Ripley Town secured their second successive league victory in the Midlands Regional Alliance Division One at a windswept Nottingham Road ground on Saturday.
Town were bright and full of invention early on but were a little wasteful in front of goal as several cances went begging.
Both Ian Randall and Tim stone struck the crossbar as town wen in search of a goal but half time arrived goalless. Ripley continued to press after the break and the important breakthrough came wit 25 mins to play.
Matt Crews slipped a neat pass forward and James Dennis latched onto the ball to finish in style.
As the wind increased in strength town found themselves pinned back, although Ripley still posed a threat on the break. But heroic defending saw them run down the clock for a first clean sheet of the season and 3 well earned points.
This Saturday, sees Ripley host local side Bargate Rovers in a league game at Nottingham road ground 2.30 pm kick off.
