Ripey Town score after seven seconds during 8-2 romp

Ripley Town blew away Bargate Rovers 8-2 after heavy winds nearly forced the match to be postponed.

Ripley, who have now won their first two games of 2015, opened the scoring after just seven seconds when Lewis Parkin fired home.

Within five minutes Parkin bravely headed home his second from close range, before Matt Ball and Tom Yates scored to put Ripley firmly in control.

Matt Ball hit the post and both Ian Randall and Jimmy Hassall had goals chalked off for offside before bargate pulled a goal back against the run of play shortly before half-time.

The second half saw exactly the same pattern with Ripley dominating the game.

Parkin added two more for a personal tally of four goals and further strikes from Ball and Hassall put Town 8-1 ahead, before another late goal from the visitors.
