Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law has strengthened his squad by landing two players on loan deadline day.
The Reds’ boss was hit by injuries in midweek to both Ross Killock and Leigh Franks and has acted quickly to bring in Danny Emerton and Gavan Holohan.
Emerton, 20, has been brought in on loan from npower Championship side Hull City. He is a midfield player who signed professional terms with The Tigers in 2010 and was part of the side that won the Youth Alliance North East Conference.
Danny has made it as far as the substitutes’ bench for the Tigers, and has impressed for the reserves, even playing for them against Alfreton’s league rivals Gateshead in midweek.
He will be with the Reds until January 1 inclusive, and has been granted permission to play in the FA Trophy, FA Cup and Derbyshire Senior Cup.
Law has also signed Gavan Holohan, a 20-year-old Irish midfield player who was released by Hull City in the summer and has since trialled with both Carlisle United and Scottish Premier League side Hibernian.
Born in Kilkenny, he has represented his country at under-19 level.
Emerton will wear squad number 25 and Holohan has been handed squad 24 number.
