Rangers end their season in style to keep up unbeaten run

Ripley Rangers u11s were looking to win seven games on the bounce and in the process stop Hasland CFC winning the title and finish third.

Ripley’s cultured football paid dividends, taking the lead through Ben Hawkes.

Then, Tyler Spencer Roper won the ball in midfield, slipped the ball to Jack Hounslow who crossed the ball for Dylan Goodall to finish at the second attempt.

Both keepers made some good saves and Jake Maskell was having a great game in midfield, putting in some crunching tackles. But as Ripley relaxed a ball eluded the defence and Hasland pulled a goal back.

Jack Hounslow set off on a run and was fouled about 25 yards out. Up stepped Reece Askew and he scored with a Beckham-like free-kick.

Hasland were denied by two timely stops by Luke Goold and Regan McDonagh.

Eventually, though, they beat the offside trap and made it 3 - 2.

Ripley then started to get on top.

Rangers’ pace was causing problems for Hasland and Wesley Hardstaff won the ball, passed to Dylan Goodall who beat two defenders and completed the scoring at 4 - 2.

So a season ended that saw Ripley beat every team in the division and miss out on promotion by three points .

The whole squad can be proud of their first full season at nine-a-side. They have been unbeaten in the league in 2013.
