Luke Crosby scored four as South Normanton Athletic hit Arnold Town for six and move up to second in the East Midlands Counties League Premier.

First half goals from Dave Leigh and Ant Fay put the Shiners in to a half-time lead before Crosby stole the show with four goals to put the contest to bed.

A swift passing move saw South Normanton take the lead midway through the first half when Leigh struck a shot in to the bottom right corner of the net.

Two minutes later it was 2-0 when Sam Keenan played a one-two with Fay and the latter’s strike from just inside the 18-yard box had the beating of Ross Cherry.

Crosby’s mazy run and shot made it three just three minutes after the re-start.

His opposite number Smith made a superb double stop to maintain South Normanton’s advantage before Crosby turned sweetly and found the top corner.

His hat-trick came with a well-placed shot from 14 yards and a fourth arrived on the stroke of 90 when he tapped in Ash Whitt’s blocked shot.

SNAFC: Smith, Bartley, Keenan, Holman, Jellyman, Roberts (c), Leigh (Riley 75), Johnson, Lyons, Crosby, Fay (Whitt 58). Subs not used: Leighton, Kellogg, Pawley. Man of the match: Crosby.
