Codnor Boys under 15s wrapped up their league programme in style, with a convincing 5-1 victory over FC Redwood.
The result guaranteed top spot in the division, although other remaining results could force a league play-off final to decide upon the champions.
Playing their first game at the newly built Codnor Sports Club, it took only five minutes to open the scoring, with Soar setting up the impressive Heappey to turn and finish well from the edge of the box.
Minutes later it was Soar who doubled the lead, with his 21st strike of the season. On nine minutes, it was 3-0, when Grainger fed a pass into James, who turned his marker and fired in from 25 yards.
A minute later and Wood made it 4-0, firing in his 15th goal of the campaign from another Heappey assist.
Chances came and went for the remainder of the half, but the score remained 4-0.
Codnor then rang the changes, to give every player as much football as possible, and a few run-outs in different positions.
Midway through the half, Redwood created an excellent chance. The ball came through to Alam who fired low past the onrushing Nolan. Minutes later, the four-goal cushion was restored when Wood fired in a long-range effort which was converted at the back post by Byrne.
Man of the match was William Nolan, who pulled off some great saves.
