HEANOR Town wrapped up the East Midlands Counties Football League Premier Division title on Saturday.
A 1-0 win at home to Blackwell MW in front of a crowd of 154 at the Town Ground was enough to ensure the Lions could not be overtaken in the title race.
In front of 154, the all-important goal came seconds before the half-time whistle when Phil Austin’s vicious drive was too hot for visiting Smith to hold and Josh Royce was on hand to supply the finishing touch.
Joint managers Glenn Kirkwood and Craig Hopkins are the first bosses to bring a league title to Heanor for 15 years.
