Derbyshire Senior Cup: Gresley Rovers v Alfreton Town postponed

Alfreton Town’s Derbyshire Senior Cup semi-final, scheduled to take place tonight (February 16), at Gresley Rovers has been postponed following a 2pm pitch inspection.

The semi-final tie, when rescheduled, will be a first appearance for Nicky Law’s side since the 2012/13 season when the Reds lost 2-0 at Ilkeston FC.

Alfreton are aiming to reach their first final in the competition since the 2007/08 campaign when they lost out 4-3 on aggregate to Belper Town.

Gresley could reach the final for the second successive season.

The clubs have only met once before in the Senior Cup with Gresley running out 3-2 winners at the Moat Ground in a third round tie in the 2011/12 season.

A rearranged date is yet to be announced.
