Back-to-back losses for Ripley Town

ripley Town continued to slide down the Midlands Regional Alliance Division One table with back-to-back defeats last week.

Injuries and unavailability are taking a toll on the club and the league position is suffering as a result.

Last Wednesday night, saw Town lose a local derby game at Swanwick Pentrich Road.

On a wild blustery night Swanwick were 3-0 up with a couple of class strikes and a near post effort.

Ripley rallied late on with goals from Chris Green and Craig Smith but Swanwick took the points and bragging rights. Saturday saw a 3-1 defeat at promotion chasing Derby Rolls-Royce Leisure.

Despite having the better possession, the Derby side only led at the break through two own goals.

Ripley played well in the second half, pulling a goal back, and pushed for an equaliser, only for the hosts to seal thE game late on.

Ripley have two home fixtures this weekend. On Friday night, they play Allenton (6.30pm) and on Saturday they are up against Little Eaton 3pm (kick off).
