Ambergate drop points

MRA Division Two

Melbourne Dynamo

Ambergate FC

AMBERGATE FC got a deserved draw at third-placed Melbourne Dynamo Reserves, but it should have been all three.

The visitors started slowly and Melbourne took the lead after 20 minutes, a defensive misjudgement allowing striker Farrell Scott in to finish With ease.

Ambergate started to show more threat after this and equalised soon after.

A superb ball from Craig Tipton was volleyed home first time by Shaun Bestwick.

The second half was a half of few chances, with neither team managing to get a grip on the game.

Big chance

But Ambergate had the one big chance to claim the points. Tom Aston was sent clear on goal and did everything right, he coolly rounded the keeper but then took an extra touch which allowed a defender to get back on the line before ASton skewed his shot agonisingly wide and meant the game finished all-square.

The draw meant that both clubs saw their promotion prospects dented with both of them dropping crucial points.

This Saturday (March 3) Ambergate entertain Little Eaton Reserves. Kick-off is 2.30pm.
