Alfreton Town face the first of an August Bank Holiday weekend double header when they travel to take on league leaders Solihull Moors on Saturday.
The Reds go in search of their first win of the season at the sixth attempt as they travel to the early season leaders, Solihull Moors.
A tough task is in prospect as unbeaten Solihull have won four of their five opening league games, drawing the other, scoring 14 and only conceding three in the process.
Despite not winning yet, Alfreton have been resolute in their games, only losing one out of their first five and they go into the clash unbeaten in their last three games.
In their last outing, Alfreton were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Curzon Ashton. Sam Jones opened the scoring for the Reds in the 16th minute, before two goals inside 12 minutes from the visitors gave them a 2-1 lead at the break.
Nicky Law’s men battled back to earn a point, Joe Leesley’s stunning 25-yard strike earning a third draw in a row for the Reds.
Solihull Moors eased to a 3-1 victory away to Stalybridge Celtic. Byrne opened the scoring for Solihull before Dixon levelled the scores on the stroke of half time.
Two goals in the last 20 minutes from Daly and Knights secured yet another three points for Solihull, who lead the Vanarama National League North at this early stage.
Alfreton manager Nicky Law has central defenders Sam Berry and Tom Allan available again after the pair mised the Curzon game through one-match suspensions. However, Law will be without captain Dan Bradley who begins the first of a three-match ban.
