Alfreton Town knocked out of FA Youth Cup by Dunkirk

Alfreton Town bowed out of the FA Youth Cup at the third Qualifying Round stage after taking a 22nd minute lead through Harry Jackson away to Dunkirk FC on Tuesday night.

Sam Jackson conceded a penalty in the 35th minute as well as receiving his marching orders, with Adrian Lang scoring from the spot.

Pierce Bird claimed the 85th minute winner for the Nottingham-based side, with Alfreton’s Remel Miller and Dunkirk’s William Skillington both sent off in added time.

Meanwhile at the lmpact Arena Nottingham Forest U23’s Development side were hosting Birmingham City in the first of their scheduled home matches on Alfreton soil.

Ben Brereton’s magnificent strike on 26 minutes cancelled out by Ronan Hale’s free-kick in first half added time as the sides drew 1-1.
