Last wicket stand frustrates Derbyshire against Glamorgan
A last wicket stand frustrated Derbyshire after Tony Palladino had completed his 12th five wicket haul on the second morning of the match against Glamorgan at Derby.
Palladino struck twice as Glamorgan lost three wickets in four overs to slide to 314 for 9 before Timm van der Gugten and Andrew Salter added 63 in 15 overs.
Van der Gugten twice dispatched Matt Critchley’s leg-spin for six, the second landing on the pavilion roof, and there were also four fours in his 36 which came off 48 balls.
After a brief rain delay, Derbyshire’s openers had a tricky four overs to negotiate before lunch but Ben Slater and Chesney Hughes survived with few alarms as the home side moved to 23 without loss, 354 runs behind.
