LANGLEY Mill’s three sides have a hectic weekend ahead with four games planned.
On Saturday, the first team make the long trip to Walton-on-Trent for a Division 3 game against a side that promised much but have failed to deliver, slipping perilously close to the relegation zone.
In fact, the victory over the Millers at Station Road in May was one of their few glimpses of form when they knocked off a mediocre Millers total.
Langley Mill won’t be wanting to go down to them again if they are to maintain promotion ambitions.
The seconds take centre stage with a game against strugglers Cutthorpe, a team they have overwhelmed twice this season with the visitors amassing just 137 runs from two complete innings. This should be a stroll in the park for the Millers.
Sunday is a whole new ball game as the seconds make the short trip to Codnor for a Wright Cup semi-final. The reward is a place in the final which will now be held at Elvaston on August 21st.
The Sunday side will miss out on all the excitement when they travel to Morton Colliery to face a side languishing in the lower reaches of Section 4 of the Mansfield League.
The Millers will be wanting nothing less than a win to maintain their top spot.
