Denby CC 1sts made it two draws out of two so far in the Derbyshire Premier League in their game against Chesterfield on Saturday.

After giving defending champions Sandiacre Town a scare last week, Denby enjoyed a good afternoon with the bat,compiling afine total of 264-2, based largely around an opening stand of 188 from Alex Eyre (87) and Cameron Bancroft (135 not out).

In reply, Chesterfield made 203-6 as Denby took 18 points.

In Division One, Phil Mason took 5-63 for Ambergate as they dismissed Duffield for 176. Balraj Johal top scored with 31.

Muhammad Sultan (46) and Shazad Ahmed (54 not out) then did the bulk of the batting to get Ambergate to 153-8 and draw the game.

In the same division, the former Derbyshire pair of Ben Spendlove (126) and Nathan Dumelow (107 not out) starred for Quarndon in a draw with Rolleston.

Stainsby Hall could only take six points from their Division One defeat at the hands of Elvaston.

Stainsby were dismissed for 209, which included 52 from Tom Morris and 39 from Tom Wood.

Elvaston knocked off the target for the loss of five wickets.

In Division 6N, there were wins for both Belper Amateurs and Belper Meadows, who play each other this weekend.

Meadows took 22 points from their game with Clay Cross as they dismissed them for 86 all out and then raced to 90-2. Daniel Kelly took 4-14 and Joe Slater 3-9.

Peter Brookes (32) and Mitchell Robinson (30 not out) saw Meadows home with ease.

Meanwhile, Belper Amateurs’ David Nightingale took 5-32 to help dismiss Breadsall for just 122 all out.

Belper had to battle hard to a three-wicket win, but 44 from Oliver Deeming and 28 not out from Steve Dymond helped them to victory.
