Butterley Utd 2nd XI travelled to league newcomers Stanton-by-Dale, for their first 10N outing of the season.
Conditions were mixed, with hail and rain showers interrupted by brief spells of sunshine.
Butterley had three debutants, Charlie Buxton, Harry Gee and Ryan Day, and long-time servant Dean Kenney was making his bow as captain.
Stanton won the toss, and decided to bat first. Although the innings was interrupted by the weather a number of times, a reasonable total of 182 runs was gained, with Grummit top scoring with 38.
However, a tight boundary was duly noted, along with some exceptional ground rules regarding the scoring of sixes, with clearance of the pavilion being one of them.
All three debutants took wickets with Harry Gee the pick of the bowlers with figures of 5-30 from 12 overs. Towards the end of the innings, two exceptional run outs were gained after excellent throws from Brocklehurst and Kenney.
Butterley opened with Richards and Buxton, and it was Buxton who went on to score a fantastic 72 not out on his debut with the bat.
After Richards was dispatched early on, two partnerships won the match for Butterley, with Stenson scoring 28 in his partnership of 68, while N. Parkin scored a very quick 44 from only 28 balls. Butterley eventually reached their target, with a huge six from Buxton, scoring 185 from only 34.3 overs.
