SELSTON residents are set to benefit from two new bus links which will provide easier access to jobs and facilities.
Last week, transport operator Premiere launched the new number two service, which will link Underwood, Selston, Jacksdale and Brinsley to the tram terminal at Hucknall and the Sherwood Business Park at Annesley.
Now rival bus firm Trent barton has announced the 90 service will be extended to serve Selston, at the same time it is renamed the 9.4.
Selston councillor Gail Turner said residents had been calling for improved bus coverage for a number of years.
“(The new buses) will make a huge difference to the residents of this area,” she said.
The news from trent barton is mixed for residents living in the Church Hill area of Kirkby.
Mayfield Street residents have been told proposed changes to the 9.3, which provided them with a direct link to Alfreton, have been thrown out. But the changes to the 90 service will mean their journey to King’s Mill Hospital takes around 25 minutes longer.
A spokesman for trent barton said the new 90 route would link the East Midlands Designer Outlet with Derby city centre.
