Amber Valley Borough Council are offering local workers the opportunity to get together with colleagues and try their hand at a number of physical activities while having fun.

The Ambley Valley Village Games have teamed up with active Derbyshire to deliver a series of events throughout the spring and summer as they host monthly tournaments on weekday evenings with sports such as football, basketball, netball and touch rugby with people of all ability invited to take part in the various events.

Workplace teams will gain points for participating in the various events, which can be accumulated throughout the season - the more events groups participate in, the greater number of points they will gain, with bonus points on offer for the top teams in each event.

The first event of the games will be basketball which will be hosted by Ripley Ravens Basketball Club on Frida 16th May from 6.30pm to 9.30pm at Ripley Leisure Centre.

There will be teams of 6-8 people (Mixed gender) with 5 on a court at any one time, no experience is necessary, just a willingness to have fun and show off the sporting prowess of your workplace. Teams can enter from across the country but there will be a limited number of places due to the space available, as it is a first come basis.
