Staff from Somercotes firm Slimming World have taken part in an ‘It’s a Knockout’ challenge to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Sixteen colleagues from Slimming World’s head office made up two teams to compete against companies from across the area in the charity event, held at the HSBC Sports Club in Sheffield.
They were put through their paces in a range of games which saw them carry a giant pizza through an obstacle course and searching for socks in a washing machine filled with soapy water.
Slimming World workers helped to raise £4,775 for Cancer Research UK.
Slimming World Charity Co-ordinator Clare Lee said: “We initially asked for eight volunteers who’d be prepared to get wet and look silly for charity, so we were over the moon when we got twice as many and decided to enter two teams.
“As usual Slimming World staff saw the chance to have fun and get behind the challenge and gave 110 per cent. It was very competitive but brilliant fun and we were delighted to have helped raise money for such a worthy cause.”
