Which Derbyshire roads are accident blackspots?

A free online mapping tool showing the location of all reported car collisions and casualties across the UK has been published.

Buchanan Computing’s collisionmap.uk tool uses data from the Department for Transport (DfT) and has been updated with the recently-released data from 2015.

Users can search the map right down to the individual street and return accident data dating back as far as 2011 and can use the tool to identify local accident blackspots.

The colour-coded map can be filtered by date, number of vehicles involved, accident severity and casualty numbers.

The DfT figures showed that 1,732 people were killed in Britain as the result of road accidents in 2015.
