Villagers are preparing for the Swanwick Well Dressing, set to take place on Saturday, May 18.
The event, between noon and 3:30pm, will see the dedication of the wells at Broadway Head will at noon, with the celebrations continuing across the road at Swanwick Hall School.
Entertainment on the day will be provided by Pantonics Steel Band and Pinxton Puppets.
There will also be a chance to scale an artificial climbing wall and browse a host of charity, craft and cake stalls.
Swanwick Parish council is also holding a ‘paint a plate’ competition in the run up to the event.
Any child between the ages of three and 16 years can enter.
Entrants’ paintings must be on a paper plate approximately 8 inches in diameter and be based on the theme of literature. This could include a scene or character from a favourite book.
There will be a prize of a £10 voucher for the best plate in each age group and The last date for entries into the competition will be Friday, May 3.
To enter, put your name, age, school and address on the back of the plate and hand it to the clerk of the parish council at the Old School House.
