Warning to parents over car seats

THE Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership is urging parents to make sure their child is properly belted up — five years after the current child car seat law was introduced.

The law says that passengers under the age of 12 must use some form of child car seat unless they are 135cms tall or above. The type of seat a child needs depends on how much he or she weighs.

Parents can find the information they need at www.childcarseats.org.uk.
