More than six cars have been damaged after a vehicle crime spree in Ilkeston.
Stereos were taken from cars parked up on Wood Street, Ash Street and Chaucer Street between Friday May 18 and Wednesday May 23.
Other incidents included diesel being stolen from a car parked on Crompton Road, number plates being taken from a car on Godfrey Drive and a rear wiper stolen from a vehicle on Hallam Way, West Hallam.
Insp Nick Daines said: “We have noticed a recent rise in auto crime and as a result we increased patrols.
“There has been an arrest and since then the number of incidents has decreased.
“I woulId still reiterate all of the guidance out there about keeping vehicles secure. There is a tendency in hot weather for people to leave windows open and this is an open invitation for thieves.
“People also need to make sure valuables are out of the car or out of view.”
If you have any information about any of the incidents or to report a crime call police on 101.
