Heanor and Loscoe Town Council is to co-opt a new member after the death of ‘vivacious’ councillor Kath Lynch.
Labour Cllr Lynch lost a long battle with cancer in September and now the authority has a vacancy in the Heanor East ward.
Town clerk Laura West said: “It is with deep regret that Heanor and Loscoe Town Council was informed of the death of councillor Lynch.
“Although having only served in Heanor and Loscoe for a few years, Kath was an enthusiastic councillor and a valued friend to many and her presence will be missed. Kath had a bubbly, vivacious disposition and she always had a happy and cheerful word to say.”
Any interested parties are being asked to submit a CV and to present reasons why they wish to be considered for the vacancy to town clerk Laura West, Heanor and Loscoe Town Council, Town Hall, Market Place, Heanor, Derbyshire, DE75 7AA
