TV chef’s profit pledge

Young people in Amber Valley are set to benefit after a celebrity chef announced that money raised during his latest TV series would support homeless services in the area.

Celebrity chef and contestant in BBC One’s ‘Chefs: Put Your Menu Where Your Mouth Is’, John Burton-Race, will pledge the show’s profits to Futures Homescape in this week’s episode which is broadcast on Friday.

The show pitches TV’s chefs against each other to see who can make the most profit from serving their food to the public. Futures Homescape, which provides the homelessness and housing advice service on behalf of Amber Valley Borough Council, will decide how the money is best spent.

The Michelin-starred chef has supported culinary-themed homeless projects in the area before, offering young people a taste of kitchen life through training sessions and unveiling the Café Heroes project in Heanor.
