Police are managing traffic on the A38 with 'long tailbacks' after a collision near the M1.
Officers are still in attendance at the scene outside Ripley to clear up debris and traffic reports show queuing on the road.
A spokeswoman for Derbyshire Constabulary said: "We received a call at 2pm to a collision involving a van and a car on the southbound carriageway half a mile away from Hartshay.
"Officers on the scene said no-one is seriously injured and they are clearing debris. The ambulance services was asked to attend as a precaution."
