Toys taken in Somercotes lorry raid


Police are hunting thieves who stole toys from a truck in Somercotes while the driver slept.

They are appealing for information after more than 100 distinctive wooden toys were stolen from the truck, which was parked overnight between Tuesday, November 20, and Wednesday, November 21, on a layby off the A38 near Somercotes.

A total of 116 KidKraft toys were taken from the trailer, which had its curtains cut while the driver was asleep in his cab. Twenty five of the toys, called ‘Everyday Heroes’, are unique to the company.

Also taken were a number of kitchen and cupcake play sets, dolls houses, vanity units and easels.

The toys were due to be delivered to a firm in Clowne.
