BELPER Town Wind Band has issued an appeal for new musicians to join its ranks.
The band is preparing for another busy year of concerts and says it would welcome new members, who can play wind or brass instruments to a reasonable standard.
Rehearsals take place at the Methodist Church Hall in Openwoodgate on Tuesdays, from 7pm.
The band was established in its present form 15 years ago and has around 40 members.
It takes part in around 20 concerts a year across the county and beyond, including in neighbouring Nottinghamshire.
The band has played at venues including at Chatsworth House and in its home town of Belper, with two to three performances a year at the venues, including the River Gardens, St Peter’s Church and Christ Church.
It plays a wide range of music, including music from the theatre, films, light classical and pop, such as Abba songs. At concerts there are usually around 25 to 30 members playing.
One of its next big concerts will be taking part in a Rotary Club fundraiser in the Belper area.
This takes play on April 21 at Christ Church on the main A6 at The Triangle in Belper.
The event will be a evening of music and magic, with the band and a magic show on the bill.
Spokesman for the wind band Peter Davies said it always welcomed new members.
Anyone who is interested in joining can contact one of the band’s musical directors Gaynor Lovett on 07900934335.
