Teenagers to stage charity concert for carers

AN ACOUSTIC duo have organised a charity gig to raise funds for Derbyshire and Derby City Young Carers, which is part of Action for Children.

The budding stars and Amber Valley’s Got Talent runners-up, Better Days Ahead, made up of 15-year-olds Paige Seabridge, from Somercotes, and Jake Mayhew, from Riddings, will play at the Black Horse, in Somercotes, on Saturday, July 9.

Money raised at the concert will go towards funding a three-day residential stay at Dukes Barn Outdoor Activity Centre, in the Peak District, for a group of young carers.

Paige said: “We hope to raise as much money as possible for Action for Children. I didn’t know there are so many people my age, and even younger, who take care of their parents or other relatives. I can’t imagine what life must be like for them.”

Tickets are £3 for adults and £2 for under-12s and can be bought from the Black Horse or by contacting Suzy Seabridge on 07791630137 and suzy_angel@talktalk.net.
