Derbyshire detectives have launched an online survey which aims to find out about public awareness of fraud, their knowledge of how to report it and any experiences they may have with it.
Detective Inspector Rob King, head of the Derbyshire Constabulary Economic Crime Unit, said: “A major part of our campaign is to raise awareness of the different types of fraud and also to offer advice to prevent our communities from being targeted by criminals who are intent on committing fraud.
“It is vital that we find out how much the public already know about fraud so that we can find the best way to help them protect themselves from this dangerous and damaging crime.”
The short survey, which is available until Thursday, October 31, will only take a few minutes to complete and can be found at www.derbyshire.police.uk.
The results of the survey will be used to steer an innovative campaign being launched later this year which will be committed to offering practical crime prevention advice.
