Three talented students from Ripley Academy of Dance and Ripley Academy of Drama have successfully auditioned for Derby Live’s forthcoming festive production of ‘A Christmas Carol’.
Brother and sister Tom Hathaway, 12 and Katie Hathaway, 10, and Amelie Turner, 10, sang and acted their way to success.
The three students are set to have an extremely busy Christmas with rehearsals beginning in November and performances right through until the beginning of January.
All three students attend speech, acting and musical theatre and dance classes at Ripley Academy.
They all have a plethora of professional credits to their name.
Most recently Katie has appeared on BBC lunchtime soap ‘Doctors’, Tom has stepped back in time for the new series of the period drama ‘Father Brown’ for the BBC along with Amelie through the Academy’s in house talent agency.
Felicity Cutting, principal of Ripley Academy, was delighted to hear the good news.
She said: “I can’t wait to go and watch them on stage. They work so hard in class and it is a great reward, I’m so proud.”
