Steam train's next stop will be... Derbyshire!

The Midland Railway Centre will host a visiting steam locomotive from Saturday.

The Great Western Railway 2-6-2 tank locomotive promises to be a key summer attraction at the centre at Butterley near Ripley

The locomotive was built at the Great Western Railways famous Swindon Works in 1927. It is currently in the livery of London Transport and numbered L150.

Alan Calladine, the Midland Railway trust development officer, said: "We are delighted to see this locomotive visiting the Midland Railway Centre and look forward to seeing how a Great Western Railway locomotive performs in the heart of Midland Railway territory. L150 is bound to be a great attraction for our visitors."
