Officers investigating the death of Daniel Baker in South Normanton on Friday night are trying to trace two men who were in the area at around the time he was found.
The two men walked down Storth Lane in South Normanton and turned right into Mansfield Road at about 11.25pm.
This was only a few minutes before Mr Baker was discovered collapsed on Mansfield Road.
He was taken to hospital and was certified dead on arrival.
Detectives are appealing for these two men to come forward as they may have vital information which will help the investigation.

A 31-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, who are both from South Normanton, were arrested in the village at 10am yesterday. They remain in custody and will be questioned again today.
