Shoppers in Heanor stand a chance of winning a £100 voucher if they complete a Christmas shopping crawl through the town.
The Independent Christmas Crawl aims to boost festive trade for local shops and is open for anyone to take part.
Simply collect an entry form from one of the 18 participating retailers listed here and attempt to find a special hidden item in each shop to stand a chance of winning.
Each store taking part will have an ‘out of place’ item on its shelves – if you spot it, mention it to the shopkeeper and get them to sign your entry form.
This could be something like a dog basket in a sweet shop – so you will have to keep your eyes peeled as you browse the Heanor High Street.
Sarah Acikgoz of the Best of Heanor and Ripley is helping launch the competition as part of the ‘Celebrate an Independent Christmas’ campaign taking place in 40 towns nationwide.
She said: “The idea is people will discover new shops , revisit shops that they might not have been and for a while and to discover what can be bought in Heanor!
“It will bring more footfall into the town, make it more vibrant and hopefully make it a bumper Christmas for all traders.”
Anyone who finds all 18 items can submit their entry form to any one of the participating shops.
It will then be entered into a prize draw with a first prize of a £100 voucher, a second prize of a £75 voucher and third prize of a £50 voucher.
The deadline for entries is Christmas Eve at noon, so grab a copy of the Independent Christmas entry form and map from a participating retailer today!
