Schools get cash for improvements

Schools will receive funding from Derbyshire council to help towards repair costs.

John Flamsteed School in Denby will pay £30,000, with a £15,000 contribution from the council, to replace and repair walls.

John King Infants, in Pinxton will replace the boiler house roof, paying £11,500 with £5,750 from the council.

Ripley Junior School will carry out roofing and flooring and work to changing rooms - paying £130,000, with £65,000 from the council.

Sixteen school projects costing £1,158,000 has been given the green light. The schools involved will contribute a total of £314,000, and the council will contribute £844,000.
