Santa had real problem to get to the windmill when he arrived in Heage this week. The coach and horses had let him down at the last minute. But, ever resourceful, Santa saw a breakdown truck from Ripley parked near him. He rushed over and explained he had to get to the mill by 12pm or would disappoint a lot of children. He duly arrived, in style, on a large break down truck! The day was very cold and blustery, but the weather certainly did not put off almost 160 youngsters who all met him in his grotto inside the windmill. A good day was had by all. Heage windmill reopens on Good Friday 2015, although flour is still on sale on the second Saturday of each month at the mill from 10am to 1pm.
