A lightning fast Codnor teen has his sights set on Rio after clocking a time 0.05 of a second quicker than Olympic champion Usain Bolt when he was the same age.
Ryan Gorman of Mill Lane in the village has become an overnight athletics sensation after his 21.76 time at the England Under 17s Indoor Championship 200 metre final was recently classed as the fastest by a 14-year-old in European history.
And a further search through the statistics books revealed the Aldercar Community Language College pupil also beat the personal best of four time Olympic champion and world record holder Bolt when he was 14.
The Codnor star in the making even did so without using starting blocks.
