Help is urgently required to support the Ilkeston branch of the RNLI, who cover Ripley and Heanor. We form part of the country-wide organisation that support the work of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
The local branch has been raising money and holding charitable events for the past 60 years, but without your help we will be unable to carry on with our vital work.
Due to personal commitments and a diminishing committee, we are sending out an urgent plea for help to run these fundraising events and for somebody to be prepared to join the committee to chair the meetings and arrange for collections to be organised. We meet once every two months.
The RNLI is a charitable organisation that saves lives at sea around the coasts of Great Britain, Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, as well as on selected inland waterways.
Anybody who would like to help or consider volunteering should contact the Ilkeston branch secretary, Liz Webb on 01773 530774 for further information.
