The organisers of Alfreton’s Party in the Park are calling on all walkers and ramblers to take part in an eight-mile sponsored walk this Sunday.
The walk starts at the Waggon and Horse pub in Alfreton on Sunday, April 21, at 11am, then through the grounds of Alfreton Hall and its park lands, onto Pentrich and past Wingfield Manor, where it follows beside the Sheffield to Derby railway line.
It finishes at Oakerthorpe’s Amber Hotel, where the arrivals will be rewarded with a barbecue and live music from acoustic duo ‘Double Cross’ and then a coach ride back. There are refreshments stops at various country pubs along the way and dogs are welcome.
Planned to raise funds for this year’s Party in the Park, walkers can opt to raise money for their own charity causes too, or simply make a donation if they can’t take part in the walk themselves.
